The Leiston Events Team are planning a lovely Christmas event for the town, working closely with the Long Shop to ensure it’s the most wonderful time of the year!
Add 2-9:30pm Saturday the 4th of December 2021 in your diary now — Watch this space and we’ll unveil the details as they are booked in! Also, add yourself to the Facebook event for a reminder on the day.
Stallholders, please complete the booking form and return it before MONDAY 1st NOVEMBER.
Come visit Santa’s Grotto at Leiston Film Theatre (2-4pm) and see the tree lights switch on at 6pm, followed by Avocet Primary School singing carols!
This will be supported by a themed Street Fair (2-6pm) near the library and the Long Shop, where we’d like Stallholders and Shopkeepers to decorate their stalls with the ‘Independent Traders’ theme and perhaps become Del Boy, Rodney or any other ‘Only Fools and Horses’ characters for the afternoon. There will be prizes awarded on the day for the best dressed/decorated Stallholder/Stall.
There will also be live music, a funfair, food stalls, tree lights switch on and so much more….
Come enjoy the sparkle, perhaps enjoy a glass of mulled wine or warming hot chocolate, and take in the Christmas festivities!
See live music performances by the Leiston Royal British Legion Band, Procorda Nativity Medley, Rabble Chorus, Solitaire, Alde Valley Academy Choir plus singer Liz Monroe.
Stay and enjoy some delicious hot food and drink before the Long Shop plays host to the Hurricane Wolves with Jack Allen as their support act.
This is a free event and all donations to our bucket collection will go towards the next town event — Leiston’s Jubilee Weekend 3-4th June 2022!
Leiston Events Group is pleased to be organising an ‘Independent Traders’ themed Street Fair plus Christmas Tree lights switch on. This is a great opportunity for the town to come together to mark the start of the Christmas season, after a difficult time during the pandemic. As the theme is all about ‘Independent Trading’, we’d like to encourage as many shops, businesses and organisations to get involved. There will be Christmas crafts, Live music, Fun Fair, Santa’s Grotto and plenty of family Christmas magic.
With the help of Creative Leiston/Yarn Bombing, we are hoping to make the Town look extra special during the Christmas period. To help involve the shops, we would like to run our usual, ‘Best Dressed Shop Window Competition’ and a ‘Children’s Shop Window Treasure Hunt’. This is an ideal event to help promote your business. A section of the High Street will be closed for the occasion.
We can accommodate any number of outside stalls. If you are interested in having a stall or taking part in the Christmas Fair, please email us. Further updates will be available in the coming weeks either in the local press or via our website We would also welcome any offers of help to run the event and or become a member of our group.
PLEASE support this event by completing the attached booking form and returning via email to leistoneventsgroup@gmail.com or to Nichol’s Butchers or the Council Offices by MONDAY 1st NOVEMBER.
